Softball Recap: Logan Find Success

It was close, but on Tuesday the Logan Wildcats sidestepped the St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish for a 3-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Myleigh Adkins spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 20 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lacy Curry was excellent, going 3-for-6 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 11 matchups. Lauren Adkins was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one double and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Logan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Vincent-St. Mary only managed three hits.

Logan's victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for St. Vincent-St. Mary, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Coming up, Logan will be playing in front of their home fans against Cabell Midland at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Vincent-St. Mary, they will challenge Rock Hill at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games the Redmen have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
