There's no place like home for Ovid-Elsie, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Hemlock Huskies on Wednesday. Given Ovid-Elsie's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 47th, while Hemlock are ranked 265th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dominic Martin and Blake Palus scored both of Ovid-Elsie's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 21 goals.

Ovid-Elsie's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Hemlock, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5-2 record this season.

Ovid-Elsie will welcome Birch Run at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ovid-Elsie will be up against Birch Run's rather soft defense (which has allowed 5.4 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Hemlock, they will take on Pinconning at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
