While South Kingstown's victory against Smithfield wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rebels sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Sentinels on Friday. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Sentinels recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Connor Wokoske tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, South Kingstown's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nick Vellone, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

South Kingstown's record now sits at 11-3. As for Smithfield, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Kingstown will welcome Cranston West at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Rebels are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Smithfield, they will host North Providence at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Sentinels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
