Softball Recap: Maumee Drops Highest Score of Season Against Fostoria

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Maumee). They put the hurt on the Fostoria Redmen with a sharp 17-0 win on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

The team relied heavily on Reign Hurt, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Autumn Gugger, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Maumee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 4-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Maumee now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Fostoria, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Maumee has already played their next game, a 17-4 win against Genoa Area on the 16th. As for Fostoria, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 20-7 victory against Bowsher on the 15th.
