Calvert has gone 7-1 against St. Paul recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Senecas will challenge the Flyers at 5:00 p.m. Calvert will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
On Monday, Calvert made easy work of Old Fort and carried off a 10-1 victory. Considering the Senecas have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Jacob Kidwell and Blake Coleman made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Kidwell pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Coleman didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. At bat, Kidwell went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base, while Coleman went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Logan Ritzler, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Paul, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They never let Crestview get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Not much got past Alex Marsh, who gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Crestview off the board. Marsh also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because St. Paul is 7-3 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 3-6 otherwise.
Calvert pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for St. Paul, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Calvert has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like St. Paul struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Calvert beat St. Paul 8-3 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Senecas repeat their success, or do the Flyers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
