Recap: Premont Cowboys vs. Agua Dulce Longhorns
This season hasn't been kind to the Premont Cowboys, who are still winless after their eighth matchup. They fell to Agua Dulce 39-34. Premont was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Agua Dulce apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Among those leading the charge was Alyssa Vinton, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for she. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Calvez, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Premont's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-8. As for Agua Dulce, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Premont will head out on the road to face off against Santa Gertrudis Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Agua Dulce will be home for the holidays to greet Falfurrias at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Falfurrias is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
