Baseball Recap: Auburn Has No Trouble Against Oak Mountain

Auburn got themselves on the board against Oak Mountain on Saturday, but Oak Mountain never followed suit. They blew past the Eagles 6-0. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Not much got past Max Autrey, who gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks to keep Oak Mountain off the board. Those six strikeouts gave Autrey a new career-high.

At the plate, Will Whatley was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Weston Luther was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Auburn's victory bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Oak Mountain, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-9.

Looking ahead, Auburn will face off against St. Peter's Prep at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Auburn is facing St. Peter's Prep at the right time seeing as St. Peter's Prep is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Oak Mountain, they will venture away from home to take on Hoover at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Oak Mountain will need to watch out since Hoover has now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
