Soccer Recap: Bellflower Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Cerritos

After low-scoring totals in their previous five contests, Bellflower brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They never let the Cerritos Dons onto the board and left with a 5-0 win on Monday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Buccaneers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 455th, while the Dons are ranked 68th).

Bellflower moved to 3-3-2 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Cerritos, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bellflower and Troy will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Troy will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Bellflower surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cerritos, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Whitney at 3:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
