Soccer Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Ocean Springs' Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Ocean Springs kept a clean sheet against Lincoln on Saturday. They had just enough and edged the Lincoln Trojans out 1-0. Given the Greyhounds' advantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked ninth in Mississippi, while the Trojans are ranked 183rd in Florida), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ocean Springs has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those eight matchups. As for Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5-3.

Ocean Springs will take on Sacred Heart at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Ocean Springs' last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Lincoln, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Arnold on the 4th.
