Basketball Recap: Kaden Hammond's Big Game Can't Quite Lead the Burlington School over Burlington Christian Academy

If The Burlington School was riding high fresh off their 110-9 takedown of Cristo Rey Research Triangle last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Burlington School Spartans fell 57-44 to the Burlington Christian Academy Royals on Friday. The Spartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Royals earlier this season, when they won 62-58.

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaden Hammond, who went 7 of 13 to rack up 14 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Hammond is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cam Flippen, who posted 13 points and six boards.

The Burlington School's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 17-11. As for Burlington Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 18-9 record this season.

As of now, neither The Burlington School nor Burlington Christian Academy have any future games scheduled.
