Volleyball Game Preview: New Ulm Cathedral Greyhounds vs. Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Thunderbirds

The New Ulm Cathedral Greyhounds are taking a road trip to take on the Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Thunderbirds at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. New Ulm Cathedral will be strutting in after a victory while Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop will be coming in after a defeat.

On Monday, New Ulm Cathedral beat Loyola 3-1.

Meanwhile, Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Madelia, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Thunderbirds have suffered since September 25th.

New Ulm Cathedral now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop, their loss dropped their record down to 1-19-1.

Everything went New Ulm Cathedral's way against Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as New Ulm Cathedral made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Greyhounds since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
