He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played.
In other batting news, Burlington Christian Academy got a big performance out of Lofton Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. Gonzalez has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Gib Wirt, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.
Burlington Christian Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harrells Christian Academy struck out nine times.
Burlington Christian Academy pushed their record up to 21-1 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Westchester Country Day, their record now sits at 9-11.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Westchester Country Day has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .433. However, it's not like Burlington Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .479. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
