Volleyball Recap: Amphitheater Comes Up Short

Amphitheater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Sabino Sabercats, falling 3-0. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Sabercats when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-15, 25-12.

Sabino was led to victory by Logan Bradshaw and Damien Lopez. Bradshaw had two aces and one block, while Lopez had ten digs. What's more, Bradshaw racked up 21 assists, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

Amphitheater's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Sabino, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Looking ahead, Amphitheater will face off against The Gregory School at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. After both having extra time off, Sabino and St. Augustine Catholic will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court one another at 5:00 p.m. on March 24th.
