Preview: Anclote Sharks vs. Sunlake Seahawks
Anclote is 1-9 against Sunlake since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Anclote Sharks will be playing at home against the Sunlake Seahawks at 6:30 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Anclote made easy work of Tarpon Springs and carried off a 41-20 victory. That looming 41-20 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Anclote yet this season.
Meanwhile, Sunlake scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 68-65 victory over Mitchell. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Sunlake as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Anclote pushed their record up to 2-2 with that victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 20.5 points. As for Sunlake, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-3.
Anclote might still be hurting after the 71-47 defeat they got from Sunlake in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Can Anclote avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
