The biggest upset of the week belonged to South Portland, who took down 34th ranked South Portland, 40-6.
Massabesic was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Massabesic 42-14. The Mustangs came in at 19 in the state poll after placing at number 33 last week.
Ken Sweet was the most productive running back in A Southern Maine this week. In 18 carries, he ran for 140 yards as Deering fell to Scarborough.
The Red Storm's Dillon Russo and Greg Viola have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Russo has thrown for 428 yards this season, while Viola, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has five catches for 149 yards. The Rams' Sweet leads the league in rushing yards with 502.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Thornton Academy and Scarborough. The Trojans comes into the matchup ranked second in the state, while the Red Storm ranks third.
Deering suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 28-21 loss to Scarborough. The Rams had been ranked 25th, but fell to 38 following the defeat.
