Soccer Recap: Sterling Starts Season with Win on the Road

Sterling had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. Their defense stepped up to hand the Belleview Christian Bruins a 5-0 shutout. The score was close at the half, but the Tigers pulled away in the second half with four goals.

They hit Belleview Christian with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kylie Mildenberger (2), Olivia Douglas, Lydia Boxberger, and Addamari Ochoa.

This is the second loss in a row for Belleview Christian and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sterling will host Wellington at 4:00 p.m. on March 25th. Sterling is facing Wellington at the right time seeing as Wellington is stuck on a three-game losing streak. After both having extra time off, Belleview Christian and Dawson School will shake off the cobwebs and hit the pitch one another at 4:00 p.m. on April 1st. The match will give Belleview Christian their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
