Basketball Game Preview: Cape Cod RVT Crusaders vs. Cape Cod Academy Seahawks

The Cape Cod RVT Crusaders will challenge the Cape Cod Academy Seahawks at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Cape Cod RVT is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since December 27, 2024 on Friday. They lost 56-34 to Upper Cape Cod RVT.

Meanwhile, Cape Cod Academy lost to Dennis-Yarmouth Regional on the road by a 82-68 margin on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Seahawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 320th, while the Dolphins are ranked 116th).

Cape Cod RVT will have to keep a close watch on Harrison Lauf and Mike Berry, a pair of players who had a big impact on Cape Cod Academy's prior game. Lauf went 9-for-16 en route to 25 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals, while Berry dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten boards. That's the most points Berry has posted since back in December of 2024. Cody Tolley was another key player, putting up ten points.

Cape Cod RVT's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Cape Cod Academy, they dropped their record down to 3-15 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
