Birdville has gone a perfect 3-0 against Denton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Hawks will venture away from home to take on the Broncos at 7:00 p.m. Denton took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Birdville, who comes in off a win.
Birdville took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They strolled past Azle with points to spare, taking the game 42-28. The Hawks' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Birdville's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Anthony White, who rushed for 117 yards and three scores, and Zach Wells, who rushed for 47 yards and one touchdown. Wells' passing game has become a key predictor of the Hawks' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-3 otherwise.

Birdville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jacob Martinez and Jamal Ramsey. Martinez has been hot for a while, having also posted five or more total tackles the last 13 times he's played. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Denton lost 38-17 to Brewer on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 464th, while the Bears are ranked 166th).
Birdville will have to contain Terrance Lopez as he made an impact in Denton's last game. He threw for 152 yards and one TD, and also rushed for 43 yards.
Denton dropped their record down to 2-3 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Birdville, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Birdville strolled past Denton in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 37-19. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
