Baseball Recap: Hayfield Takes a Loss

Hayfield fell victim to Randolph and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Rockets, falling 14-0. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rockets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Hayfield has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Randolph, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-3.

Coming up, Hayfield will welcome United South Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings are facing the Rebels at the right time seeing as the Rebels are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Randolph, they will venture away from home to square off against Kenyon-Wanamingo at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rockets will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: the Knights will have lost three straight heading into Thursday's game.
