Volleyball Game Preview: Sand Creek Scorpions vs. Discovery Canyon Thunder

The Sand Creek Scorpions will face off against the Discovery Canyon Thunder at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

On Thursday, Sand Creek didn't have quite enough to beat Fountain-Fort Carson and fell 3-2.

Sand Creek took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 15-25, 22-25, 25-22, 15-6.

Meanwhile, Discovery Canyon faced Rampart in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Thunder walked away with a 3-1 win over the Rams. The victory was familiar territory for the Thunder, who have now won six games in a row.

The win didn't come easy: Rampart scored at least 19 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-22, 17-25, 25-19.

Sand Creek's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Discovery Canyon, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-4.
