Basketball Recap: Dubuque Senior Comes Up Short

Dubuque Senior was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Iowa City Little Hawks an easy 67-43 win. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Little Hawks are ranked 20th).

Dubuque Senior's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Iowa City, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dubuque Senior and Wahlert will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Iowa City will take on Linn-Mar in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Iowa City is facing Linn-Mar at the right time seeing as Linn-Mar is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
