Volleyball Recap: Five Straight Home Wins for Wheeler

There's no place like home for Wheeler, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Westville Blackhawks on Monday. The Bearcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blackhawks, too.

Wheeler walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-17, 25-14, 19-25, 25-23.

Wheeler can attribute much of their success to Laylah McNamara, who had 16 digs and one assist. That's the most digs McNamara has posted over her last five matchups.

Westville's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lydia Green, who had nine digs and two assists.

Wheeler's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-12. As for Westville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season.

Wheeler has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Andrean on the 14th. As for Westville, they will square off against Bowman Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
