Basketball Recap: Leland Comes Up Short

Leland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-40 heartbreaker at the hands of the Traverse City Christian Sabres. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 634th, while the Sabres are ranked 117th).

Leland's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Traverse City Christian, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leland will take on Benzie Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Traverse City Christian, they will face off against Ellsworth at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
