Mekhi Benton and Lamell Mims secure win for Hardaway

Recap: Hardaway Hawks vs. Russell County Warriors
The Russell County Warriors typically have all the answers at home, but on Tuesday the Hardaway Hawks proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 61-51 win over the Warriors. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hardaway also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2018.
Leading Hardaway to victory were Mekhi Benton and Lamell Mims. Benton scored 16 points along with six assists and three steals, while Mims scored 20 points along with three steals. Antonio Dortch was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Hardaway's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Russell County, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-7.
Hardaway will take on Cairo at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Cairo and Hardaway are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Russell County, they will head out on the road to square off against Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Valley will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
