R-S Central was handed a four-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over the East Rutherford Cavaliers. The win was some much needed relief for the Hilltoppers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Reigh Duncan, who's now up to three this season.

R-S Central's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-5-1. As for East Rutherford, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. R-S Central will challenge Polk County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. R-S Central's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for East Rutherford, they will face off against Patton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
