Basketball Game Preview: Clovis East Timberwolves vs. Milpitas Trojans

The Clovis East Timberwolves will head out on the road to challenge the Milpitas Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clovis East has given up an average of 54.1 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Clovis East is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They secured a 67-61 W over Cardinal Newman.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Milpitas ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They escaped with a win against Woodcreek by the margin of a single free throw, 68-67. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Clovis East better keep an eye on Jacob Wrencher. He was instrumental in Milpitas' win, putting up 22 points. That's the most points Wrencher has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Isaac Sisay, who had 14 points.

Milpitas pushed their record up to 24-4 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points over those games. As for Clovis East, their win bumped their record up to 20-10.
