It was a good run, but Trinity Hall unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Liberty Lions by a score of 5-4.
Emma Mullins put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That run was her first of the season.
Mullins wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brooke Werdann, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Maggie Burns also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Trinity Hall's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Liberty, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.
Looking ahead, Trinity Hall will face off against Lakewood at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Liberty, they will challenge St. Rose at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
