Recap: Woods Charter Wolves vs. Triangle Math & Science Tigers

The Woods Charter Wolves struggled with assists on Friday (the Triangle Math & Science Tigers had 11 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Woods Charter had to suffer through a rough 67-29 loss at the hands of Triangle Math & Science. Woods Charter has not had much luck with Triangle Math & Science recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Wesley Oliver was Woods Charter's leading scorer, having posted ten points. Oliver also led the team in rebounds with seven. Leyla Noronha took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Triangle Math & Science had a senior duo take command as Leanna Nohs scored 30 points along with five steals and Samrita Sriram scored 20 points along with six assists and six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Nohs has scored at least a third of Triangle Math & Science's points. Yashitha Vanamala was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six assists and six rebounds.

Woods Charter has not been sharp recently as the team has lost ten of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Triangle Math & Science, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woods Charter will take on Clover Garden School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Clover Garden School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 last Thursday. As for Triangle Math & Science, they will head out on the road to face off against Ascend Leadership at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Triangle Math & Science is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in North Carolina (they are ranked 296th, while Ascend Leadership is ranked 599th).
