Basketball Game Preview: Blytheville Chickasaws vs. Brookland Bearcats

Blytheville hasn't had much luck against Brookland recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Blytheville Chickasaws will head out to square off against the Brookland Bearcats at 7:00 p.m.

Last Thursday, Blytheville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 55-51 to Westside.

Meanwhile, after only 23 points in their last matchup, Brookland made sure to put some points up on the board against Pocahontas on Thursday. Brookland blew past Pocahontas 60-36. Given the Bearcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Redskins are ranked 171st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brookland is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points per game. As for Blytheville, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.

Blytheville came up short against Brookland when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 54-41. Can Blytheville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
