Soccer Game Preview: Cave Spring vs. Patrick Henry

Cave Spring is 1-9 against Patrick Henry since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Patriots at 7:00 p.m.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Cave Spring turned things around against Hidden Valley on Thursday. Neither they nor the Titans could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked Cave Spring's first draw of the season.

Meanwhile, Patrick Henry strolled into their game on Tuesday with an undefeated record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against Salem as they made off with a 5-1 win. The result was nothing new for Patrick Henry, who have now won five contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Patrick Henry's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those four matches. Cave Spring's draw makes their record 2-5-1 this season.

Cave Spring suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Patrick Henry in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
