Baseball Game Preview: Morgan Township Cherokees vs. Bremen Lions

The Morgan Township Cherokees will challenge the Bremen Lions at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Morgan Township's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matchups, but Saturday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Morgan Township came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Crown Point, falling 21-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cherokees have suffered since April 28th.

Morgan Township saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cal Lemmons, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

Bremen couldn't beat Knox on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Lions lost 19-7 to the Redskins.

Preston Williams was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Bremen is 5-1 when Williams posts two or more runs, but 7-8-1 otherwise. Zack Rouch was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Morgan Township's loss dropped their record down to 7-16-1. As for Bremen, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9-1.

Morgan Township beat Bremen 6-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Cherokees repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
