Basketball Recap: Locust Grove Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Locust Grove was the 60-55 winner over Eagle's Landing Christian Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Locust Grove Wildcats took a 55-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagle's Landing Christian Academy Chargers on Saturday.

Locust Grove lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Hamilton Thomas, who went 9 for 10 en route to 20 points and seven rebounds. Tyler Jones was another key player, putting up ten points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Locust Grove was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 1.2 assists per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 10.6.

Jayden Bone was his usual excellent self, going 6 of 11 on his way to 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals for Eagle's Landing Christian Academy. Another player making a difference was Ross Blain, who posted nine points along with five boards and three steals.

Locust Grove's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7. As for Eagle's Landing Christian Academy, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11.

Locust Grove didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-35 victory against Stockbridge on the 28th. As for Eagle's Landing Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-58 defeat against Union Grove on the 28th.
