Basketball Game Preview: James Island Trojans vs. West Ashley Wildcats

James Island and West Ashley are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The James Island Trojans will host the West Ashley Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

James Island is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Ashley Ridge on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. James Island was beaten by Ashley Ridge 77-31. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Swamp Foxes are ranked seventh).

Meanwhile, West Ashley had to suffer through a 60-29 loss at the hands of Summerville. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for West Ashley and nudges their season record down to 9-9. As for James Island, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
