Soccer Game Preview: Liberty vs. Hargrave

The Liberty Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Hargrave Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Liberty will head out to face Hargrave after giving up their first home loss of the season on Friday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was East Chambers who was credited with the win. East Chambers got it done in the shootout by posting seven goals to Liberty's six. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 429th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 141st).

Hargrave is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against East Chambers on Tuesday. Hargrave fell just short of East Chambers by a score of 1-0.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 7-4-1. As for Hargrave, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-7.

Liberty suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Hargrave when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Liberty avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
