Basketball Recap: Ridgeway Comes Up Short

If Ridgeway was feeling good fresh off their 75-48 takedown of St. Benedict at Auburndale last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Ridgeway Roadrunners fell to the White Station Spartans 45-39. The Roadrunners were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Despite the loss, Ridgeway still got an impressive performance from Demario Johnson, who went 7 for 16 on his way to 18 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marjavis Chandler, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Ridgeway has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for White Station, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4.

Ridgeway and Westview will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ridgeway is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season. As for White Station, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-37 win against Memphis University School on the 21st.
