Basketball Game Preview: Cass Colonels vs. Dalton Catamounts

Cass hasn't had much luck against Dalton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cass Colonels are taking a road trip to square off against the Dalton Catamounts at 7:30 p.m. Dalton took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Cass, who comes in off a win.

Cass will head into Friday's contest on the come-up: they were handed a 24-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Cedartown 57-54.

Meanwhile, Dalton ended up a good deal behind Rome on Saturday and lost 65-47. While losing is never fun, the Catamounts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while the Wolves are ranked 49th).

Cass is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Dalton, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.

Cass might still be hurting after the 73-52 defeat they got from Dalton in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Cass avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
