Volleyball Recap: New Albany Wins Going Away Against Westerville Central

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pickerington North, New Albany was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Westerville Central Warhawks with a sharp 3-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Eagles have posted against the Warhawks since October 13, 2022.

While New Albany won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-15, 27-25, 25-21.

New Albany had a senior duo take command as Aline Bhat had 21 digs and two aces and Maisy Mathers had 19 assists and four digs. Bhat is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 23 games she's played dating back to last season.

New Albany was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 11 consecutive matches.

New Albany is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season. As for Westerville Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

New Albany will face off against Central Crossing at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Westerville Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
