Merced came tearing into Wednesday's match with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Golden Valley Cougars 9-0. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Annalise Ramirez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Liliana Meneley, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bree Pimentel, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

Merced pushed their record up to 17-2-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
