Softball Recap: Holliston Panthers vs. Wayland Warriors

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Westwood, Holliston was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Wayland Warriors by a score of 6-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their nine-game losing streak.

Emily Hegerich spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Grace Schoenberg was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-15. As for Wayland, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.
