Softball Preview: Rhea County Golden Eagles vs. Bledsoe County Warriors

The Rhea County Golden Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Bledsoe County Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Rhea County came up short against Whitwell on Thursday, falling 10-2. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brook Tallent made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Bledsoe County and Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. Josie Potter made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Macy Holland and Olivia Hooks did most of the damage at the plate: Holland scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Hooks scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
