Volleyball Recap: Mission Hills Grizzlies vs. La Costa Canyon Mavericks
If Mission Hills was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Oceanside on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Grizzlies lost 3-0 to the La Costa Canyon Mavericks on Monday. Considering the last time the Grizzlies couldn't score was back in August, the team can't take the result too hard.
Mission Hills was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17, 25-22.
Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keilani Pacheco, who had 13 assists and 12 digs. Jaelynn Le was another key player, getting 12 digs.
La Costa Canyon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Olivia Lee out in front who had seven digs and three aces. Lee is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 19 or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Pania Golestani, who had 15 digs.
