Volleyball Recap: Homewood-Flossmoor Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Homewood-Flossmoor and Lincoln-Way Central, and Lincoln-Way Central kept the tradition alive. The Vikings took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights on Wednesday. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-15.

Homewood-Flossmoor's offense was headlined by Ihuoma Ozoh and Kymora Scott, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Naimah Calhoun and her eight assists.

Homewood-Flossmoor has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-13 record this season. As for Lincoln-Way Central, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Homewood-Flossmoor is set to square off against their familiar foe Bradley-Bourbonnais at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lincoln-Way Central will take on rival Sandburg at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
