Recap: Wray Eagles vs. Limon Badgers
There's no place like home for the Wray Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They slipped by Limon 64-63 on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Rydge Peterson was nothing short of spectacular: he scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of AB Ruiz, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Loss or not, Limon got some senior leadership from Jordan Rockwell and Treyton Marx. Rockwell scored 23 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds, while Marx. dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. Marx is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Keegan Mellott, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Wray now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Limon, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.
Wray and Haxtun will face off at 1:00 p.m. on February 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Wray is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.5 points per game this season. As for Limon, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Burlington at 1:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Limon has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
