Hurricane gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Canyon View Falcons with a sharp 16-1 win. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 19-2 victory the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2021.
Lizzy Horsley and Bella Hoover did most of the damage at the plate: Horsley went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Hoover scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. That's the most RBI Horsley has posted since back in March of 2024. Ruby Seely was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Hurricane always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Canyon View only posted an OBP of .333.
Looking ahead, Hurricane will be taking part in a tournament against Maple Mountain at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Canyon View, they will head out on the road to face off against Desert Hills at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
