Basketball Recap: Victory Christian Center Takes a Loss

Victory Christian Center was the 56-37 winner over Forsyth Country Day when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Victory Christian Center Kings took a 42-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Forsyth Country Day Furies on Friday. The Kings were down 37-15 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Forsyth Country Day found their leader in sophomore Lila Kelly, who posted 21 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Kelly has scored at least a third of Forsyth Country Day's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gigi Lyons, who scored 11 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Victory Christian Center and nudges their season record down to 11-9. As for Forsyth Country Day, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-11 record this season.

Coming up, Victory Christian Center will take on Word of God Christian Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Forsyth Country Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
