Baseball Recap: Mason County Eastern Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Mason County Eastern can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mesick Bulldogs, sneaking past 9-8. For the Cardinals, this counts as revenge for the 16-7 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Clayton Logsdon and Milo Shoup did most of the damage at the plate: Logsdon went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles and two runs, while Shoup went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Mason County Eastern is undefeated when Shoup posts two or more runs, but 0-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ron Hassenbank, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Mason County Eastern's victory bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Mesick, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Mason County Eastern will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair will be back at it again later today.
