Preview: Blessed Trinity Titans vs. Gainesville Red Elephants

Blessed Trinity has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Gainesville Red Elephants at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

With a playoff game on the line, Blessed Trinity rose to the challenge on Friday. They strolled past Creekview with points to spare, taking the game 24-10.

Blessed Trinity's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ahmontae Pitts led the charge by rushing for 61 yards and two touchdowns. Zyon Mckenzie also helped out with an impressive 115 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Gainesville put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down South Paulding 46-27. Given Gainesville's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 17th, while South Paulding is ranked 135th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gavin Hall got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 209 yards and four touchdowns. Baxter Wright was another key contributor, throwing for 238 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes.

Blessed Trinity is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Gainesville, they pushed their record up to 11-0 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
