Football Recap: Strong Effort on D from Ridgely Selman and James Patton Leads Sipsey Valley over Aliceville + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Shelby County, Sipsey Valley was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They strolled past the Aliceville Yellowjackets with points to spare, taking the game 48-32. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Bears considering their eight-point performance the match before.

Isaiah Bennett produced another solid performance rushing for 235 yards and four TDs while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, and also picking up 53 receiving yards and one touchdown. That's the most receiving yards he has posted since back in August of 2024. Kingston Trull was another key player, rushing for 48 yards and one score.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Sipsey Valley's defensive line and their seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Ridgely Selman and James Patton, who racked up five sacks between them. Patton also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 12. Sipsey Valley received some extra help from Selman, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

The victory got Sipsey Valley back to even at 2-2. As for Aliceville, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sipsey Valley will head out to take on Jemison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Aliceville, they will venture away from home to challenge Isabella at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
