Issaiah Alvarado turned in yet another pitching appearance with fewer than two walks surrendered on Tuesday. He turned in his biggest game of the season, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

Alvarado's strong effort led Lawndale over Morningside and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Morningside is limping into the matchup having lost four straight on the road. There's no doubt they're looking for a change of fortune, but will Alvarado and Lawndale have enough to stop it?
