Basketball Recap: Juan Ponce Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Vision

Marsing won the last time they faced Vision and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Marsing Huskies came out on top against Vision by a score of 66-57.

Marsing's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Juan Ponce led the charge by putting up 18 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Ponce's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Teagan Kinney was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 17 boards.

Marsing smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Vision lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kamden Stoker, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakota Williams, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 15 boards.

Marsing's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Vision, their loss was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-17.

Marsing didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-36 defeat against Nampa Christian on the 12th. As for Vision, they have also already played their next game, a 57-45 loss against Parma on the 7th.
